Use Classroom audience when you want a quiz to be available only to signed-in students in a selected classroom. To compare classroom-only access with public access, see Quiz visibility: Private, Classroom, and Public.
Select Classroom in the Share Quiz window
- Open the quiz.
- Open the Share Quiz window.
- Select Change audience.
- Choose Classroom.
- Save the audience setting.
After this is saved, the quiz is no longer public. Only signed-in members of the selected classroom can access it.
Share a quiz with a classroom
Use Classroom audience when access should stay limited to joined classroom members.
What is the Classroom Audience screen?
The Classroom Audience screen shows the classroom students who can access the quiz.
From this screen, you can:
- See student invitation statuses.
- Invite students who have not joined yet, when the inline invite action is available.
- Refresh the audience list to check the latest joined status.
- Open classroom settings when you need member management.
What does Joined mean?
Joined means the student accepted the classroom invitation and is now a member of the classroom.
Joined students can access quizzes and other classroom materials according to the teacher’s classroom access settings.
Students who have not accepted their invitations appear as Pending or Expired and cannot open classroom-only quizzes yet.
How do the QR code and link work for classroom sharing?
When Classroom sharing is enabled, the quiz link and QR code work only for students who:
- Have joined the selected classroom.
- Are signed in to their QuizRise account.
If the link or QR code is shared with someone outside the classroom, that person cannot access the quiz.
This keeps the quiz limited to the intended student group, even if the link is forwarded.
Notify joined students by email
After sharing the quiz, the Continue to share step can send an email notification to Joined classroom students.
This email lets students know that a new quiz has been shared and gives them a quick way to open it.
Students with Pending or Expired invitations do not receive classroom access from this notification. They must accept the classroom invitation first.
QuizRise limits this notification so the same joined student can receive it once every 12 hours.
