Create Quiz from YouTube

Enter a public YouTube video URL and generate a quiz from the transcript.

Use the YouTube source when the lesson or explanation is in a YouTube video.

If your material is on a regular web page instead, use Create Quiz from Website.

Steps

  1. Open QuizRise.

  2. Choose From YouTube.

  3. Enter the YouTube Video URL.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Wait while QuizRise gets the transcript. Longer videos can take a few minutes.

  6. On Configure Quiz, choose:

    • Language: Keep the detected language or choose another language.
    • Question Types: Select one or more of multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and true/false.
    • Question Difficulty: Choose easy, medium, or hard.
    • Total Question Count: Choose how many questions to create. The available range can depend on your plan and transcript length.
  7. Click Create Quiz.

QuizRise creates the quiz and starts generating questions from the video transcript.

Requirements and limits

  • The URL must be a valid YouTube video URL.
  • The video should be public.
  • QuizRise needs a usable transcript. Videos with clear spoken audio or available captions work best.
  • If QuizRise cannot get a transcript, try another public video or paste your own notes into the Text source.
  • YouTube transcript usage can be limited by your plan.
