## Question

Share a quiz publicly

## Short answer

Create a public quiz link or QR code that anyone can open.

## Full answer

Use **Public Share** when you want anyone with the quiz link or QR code to open a quiz. To compare all sharing options first, see [Quiz visibility: Private, Classroom, and Public](/help/en/quiz-visibility-private-classroom-public).

## What is a Public Link?

A **Public Link** is a unique URL that lets you share a quiz with anyone who has the link.

When you set a quiz to **Public**, QuizRise creates a share link and QR code automatically.

You can send the link by email, share it in a messaging app, post it on social media, or add it to a website.

## Can anyone open a public quiz link?

Yes. When a quiz is set to **Public**, anyone with the link or QR code can open it.

Users do not need to join a classroom or receive a classroom invitation.

This makes Public Share useful when you want to reach a wider audience.

## What do external users see?

Users who are not classroom members open the shared material directly from the public link.

They can start and answer the quiz from the public play flow. If Summary or Flashcards are enabled and available for that quiz, those options can also appear from the public link.

However, **Study Mode** and other classroom-only learning features are not available to external users.

## What do classroom students see from a public link?

If the user is also a student in the related classroom, they get the classroom learning experience when they open the public link.

They are sent into the classroom student experience. They can use the materials and practice modes allowed by the teacher's classroom access settings, such as **Summary**, **Flashcards**, **Study Mode**, and **Quiz Mode**.

## Public Share vs. Classroom Share

**Public Share** lets anyone with the link or QR code open the quiz. No classroom membership or invitation is required.

**Classroom Share** allows access only for users who have joined the selected classroom and are signed in to QuizRise.

Use Classroom Share for regular class workflows and student access control. Use Public Share when you need fast, open access for a wider audience.
